Asian men get jail for drug peddling
Manama : The High Criminal Court has handed down two Asian men heavy jail terms for peddling drugs. The duo’s house was raided by anti-drugs squads following a tip-off that they were peddling drugs. Several types of illicit drugs were seized from them during the inspection.
Moreover, a digital scale was also found in their house. The duo admitted to selling drugs during interrogation.
The court after finding them guilty sentenced the first defendant to 15 years in prison and the second one to 10 years behind bars.
The first defendant was considered as the mastermind, thus he was given a heavier sentence.
Both of them, however, were fined BD 5,000 and were ordered to be deported once they finish their jail terms.
