BD15,000 compensation for sacked staff

Manama : The Labour Court has ordered a company to pay a sacked employee BD15,000.

The plaintiff was fired by his employers in August 2015 after an eight-year-tenure. He was placed in a managerial position, where he was earning a monthly wage of BD1,230.

His sacking was considered arbitrary, and the court has ordered the company to compensate him with BD15,000.

The court stated that the two parties were engaged in a two-year-long contract that was being renewed automatically.

The plaintiff was shown the door just three months after his new contract was signed.

Hence, the court ruled that the sacked employee deserves to be compensated with BD15,000 for the remaining period of the contract as well as for the unpaid leaves.
