Bahrain Works Ministry awards 15 tenders

Manama: Works Affairs Undersecretary Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat revealed that the Ministry has awarded 15 tenders worth BD17,427,744, and invited bids for four tenders worth BD486,500.

Al Khayyat stated that the projects underline the government’s determination to invest in infrastructure projects to provide a better life to the people of Bahrain, support economy and attract more investments.

Al Khayyat explained that the awarded tenders in the roads sector covered the construction of the entrance to Block 946 in Awali at the cost of BD220,790 and the revamp of W-Link to North Town at the cost of BD7,698,989.

The awarded tenders at the sanitary sector covered the implementation of a sewerage network in Sadad Block 1038 (Phase 2) at the cost of BD831,814 and the cleaning of sewerage and drainage networks at the cost of BD2,562,850, which was assigned to 10 contractors with BD256,285 for each contractor.

The awarded tenders in the construction sector covered the construction of the Dialysis Center in East Riffa at the cost of BD6,085,000.

The four tenders for which bids were invited included two tenders in the sanitary sector, which were the implementation of a sewerage network in Sitra Block 602 (additional area) and the implementation of a sewerage network in Dair Block 231.

The tender for which bids were invited in the construction sector included the storm water isolators time contract (2016-2018) with a 10 year warranty.

Al Khayyat stated that the Cost Engineering Directorate of the Ministry, represented by the Procurement Department, approved 80 purchase requests in April at the cost of BD254,742, covering various sectors at the Ministry.
