Burhama roads revamp underway : official
Manama : Roads Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Huda Fakhro revealed that the Ministry has achieved 80pc progress in the paving of dirt roads in Burhama Block 351.
According to Fakhro, the Ministry is implementing such projects as part of the government’s programme to improve infrastructure and give priority to the paving of dirt roads in urban areas.
“Thus it creates an integrated road network in all areas in the Kingdom, in coordination with Municipal Councils and the Capital General Secretariat,” Fakhro said during a visit to the project yesterday. Works comprise of paving a total of 7km roads, carrying out civil and asphalting works, implementing a storm water drainage network, implementing ground channels for future use, lighting, signage and painting ground marks. The project is expected to serve 60 housing units and ease traffic in the area. The BD518,445 project was awarded to Bahrain Motors.
