British naval base new facilities inaugurated

The new British naval base's facilities, at Mina Salman Port was opened here yesterday at the presence of Minister of Defence Affairs Lieutenant-General Yusuf bin Ahmed Al Jalahma and the British Minister of State for the Armed Forces Penny Mordaunt.
The establishment of the facilities is in line with the Bahraini-British defence agreement of improving the onshore facilities at Bahrain's Mina Salman port, within the framework of joint cooperation aimed at promoting bilateral relations in all fields, particularly military.
It emphasises the mutual interest in consolidating regional security and stability as well as joint work with the UK and other international partners so as to counter challenges facing the regional security.
British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Ian Lindsay was also present at the opening ceremony.
