Teenager gets jail for attacking cops
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced a 16-year-old boy to three months behind bars for attacking two police officers. The defendant was in the Juvenile Detention and Rehabilitation Centre, where he is reported to have physically assaulted the two police officers.
One of the officers told prosecutors that the incident occurred due to an administrative discord with the teenager during lunchtime.
“He tried to suffocate me by holding my neck with his arm,” one of the victims told prosecutors earlier. The defendant, on the other hand, told prosecutors that the argument surfaced when one of the victims favoured a group of inmates to go to have their lunch, although “we arrived first to the lunch room.”
