Positive response for new fuel type ‘Super’

Manama The newly-introduced gasoline grade “Super” has received positive response from consumers, confirmed a senior state official.

Minister of Energy Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza said on Tuesday that an additional pump providing the new gasoline grade, 98 Octane “Super”, has been installed at Tubli Service Station on Shaikh Isa bin Salman Highway in the Capital Governorate, after three pumps were initially installed in Busaiteen, Sanabis and Formula 1 fuel stations last month.

The Minister described consumers’ desire for this new type of gasoline as “good.”

Dr. Mirza’s statements came on the sidelines of his patronage of the 2016 International Leadership Conference that was held in Bahrain on May 24-25. He also confirmed that new pumps will be installed in Saar and Galali fuel stations in the near future, to fulfil the increasing demand.

As reported earlier, the new grade of gasoline was introduced and added to the existing 95-Octane Mumtaz and 91-Octane Jayyid fuel types, in collaboration between the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) by the end of April.

The officials announced back then that the sale price of the new product is linked to international prices.
