Indian School, Rest of the Schools enter finals

ManamaThe Indian School beat Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School by 80 runs to reach the finals of the CBA BOC School Cricket Junior Championship for under 14 boys. 

Batting first, Indian School scored a lowly 118 in 20 overs with the main scorers being the skipper Anuj Ramesh (34) and all rounder man of the match Karan Anand (31), while skipper Zeeshan (four for 20) and Safwan Mohammed (2 for 14) being the best of the bowlers.

Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School in reply struggled from the onset of the innings and were restricted to 37 for three in the first 10 overs. Things went from bad to worse as Varun Dinesh took four wickets for just one run in the 11th over and then Karan Anand bowled just three balls to complete a hat trick and to finish off Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School for just 38 runs.

Rest of the Schools beat Combined School (1) by 17 runs to reach the finals, thanks to skipper Rishab Ramesh (65 not out) and opener Thushar Redd as they reached 135 in its 20 overs.

The Combined (1) in reply were then restricted to 118 for seven with Tanvir Singh (19), Rohit Raj (18) and Tanvir (18) being the main scorers with Sachiru (two for 19) the best of the bowlers.

Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School 122/8 (Umer 22, Jaheen 21, Emon 16) bt Combined School (2) 45 all out (Aravind Rajeev 4/25, Azam 2/23) by 77 runs. 

New Millennium School 118/8 (Sufyan 20, Bharat 17, Sachiru 2/11, Safal 2/20, Ritwick 2/24) bt Rest of the School 117 all out (Rishab Ramesh 28, Thushar Reddy 19, Ayush 3/19, Ekanth 2/11) by two wickets. 

The Combined School (1) 126/6 (Sajid 29, Asdon 27, Tanvir 15no) bt Bahrain Youth Team 125/5 (Abdullah 36, Waleed 16no, Dinesh 2-22) by four wickets.
