Wanted fugitive fights for militants in Iraq
Manama : A fugitive wanted by the authorities in Bahrain is fighting alongside militants in Fallujah, it has emerged.
Iraqi army forces have recently launched a military operation to re-capture the city from Islamic State militants, and they are being aided by Shia militants, including the so-called the Popular Mobilisation Forces, who are accused of committing countless violations against citizens.
Maytham Al Jamri, whose Bahraini nationality was stripped for threatening the national security, fled the Kingdom to Iraq in 2011 during the unrest.
He appeared in 2012 in the city of Karbala, and reports published by the Iraqi media pointed out that he took up the arm with Shia militants fighting in Fallujah.
The reports came with several images of Maytham holding a heavy machine gun. It’s worth noting that Maytham has been found guilty in several terror cases.
