Court jails two for posing as women
Manama : The Lower Criminal Court has sentenced two men, including a Gulf national and an Arab citizen to one year for sporting women’s clothes and wearing make-up.
The defendants, both aged 32, were arrested at a swimming pool in Hamala, where they were also wearing high-heeled footwear, wigs and nail polish.
The Arab man, an employee in an airline company, stated that he had stopped wearing women’s clothes, but was convinced of attending the party at the swimming pool by a Gulf national man.
“I was told that many people would be there at the party. We got drunk and then I left the party,” the Arab defendant told prosecutors. Both of the defendants were charged with committing immoral activity.
