Al Areen Palace & Spa names Janardan Das Executive Sous Chef

ManamaAl Areen Palace and Spa resort yesterday announced the appointment of Janardan Das as its Executive Sous Chef. Das comes to Al Areen Palace & Spa with 25 years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant industry and will be overseeing all of the hotel’s culinary operations, including its new Indian restaurant, ‘Roti Boti’.

Chef Das as he is most popularly known has recently worked as the Executive Sous Chef at Sharq Village and Spa - Ritz Carlton, Doha. He is no stranger to the gulf region, as a major share of career was spent in UAE & Oman. He was the Sous Chef at Fairmont Dubai for two years, Dubai International Hotel (Le Meridian) and Hotel Al Bustan Palace, Intercontinental Muscat before he moved from Hotel Taj Bengal Kolkata, India.

“Food is not only my career, it’s my passion” said Chef Das. “It is an expression of what I believe in. Food unlike other forms of artistic expression appeals to all the senses - of sight, smell, taste and touch. Through the food I serve I am able to offer innovative ideas and have an ability to create a long term relationship with my guests  & colleagues making the organization more profitable.”
