ASRY puts spotlight on developing safety rules
Manama : ASRY board of directors stressed on the importance of developing safety rules and regulations of the firm as part of a comprehensive awareness campaign for all employees beginning 1st June 2016.
The board of directors of ASRY revealed this during its 144th meeting held at the company’s head office in Hidd on Thursday. The board emphasized on the importance of complying with the safety standards, rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all workers of the company at all levels, as well as the employees and workers of ASRY’s subcontractors.
While reviewing the financial and operational results, as well as the business activities of the company for the period from 1st January to 30th April 2016, the board revealed that the number of vessels repaired during the period was 88 ships and 11 rigs.
During the period from 1st January to 30th April 2016, the company achieved sales of approximately US$54 million, when compared to US$50m recorded in the same period last year.
The meeting was presided over by Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board and representative of Bahrain, and was attended by representatives of the shareholding states - the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, State of Kuwait, State of Qatar, Republic of Iraq and State of Libya.
On the occasion, Shaikh Daij extended a special welcome to the new and alternative members of Libya, Abdul Nasser Mukhtar Ahmeda and Abu Bakr Rajab Al Khallab.
