BOC holds ‘World No Tobacco Day’ campaign
Manama : The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) held a campaign yesterday to mark the World No Tobacco Day.
The activity witnessed noticeable turnout from BOC staff besides employees of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and the General Organisation for Youth and Sports (GOYS).
The campaign, held in cooperation with the Health Ministry’s Anti-Smoking Clinic, took place at the committee premises in Seef where a team from the Ministry provided medical check-ups to test the lungs efficiency and carbon monoxide ratio.
The initiative, supervised by BOC Public Relations Department, was part of the panel’s commitment towards its staff to promote public health as well as to spread awareness on the dangers of smoking.
At the end of the activity, BOC General Secretary Abdulrahman Askar honoured three employees at the committee, namely Mohammed Al Rumaili, Mohammed Qamber and Yaqoub Abdulmohsin – who quit smoking recently – in an appreciation to their positive initiatives.
