Bahrain elected WHO panel’s deputy chair

Geneva: Bahrain, represented by Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh, has been elected Deputy Chair of the 139th session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organisation, held here on May 30-31.

The Minister thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for their constant support and sound directives to improve the health services in the Kingdom.

Al-Saleh also paid tribute to all the efforts of the Health Ministry to serve the nation.

She affirmed that the post crowns the Health Ministry’s success in delivering outstanding services for the citizens and residents alike.

The 139th WHO Executive Board session elected Malta’s representative as Chairman, while the representatives of Bahrain, China, Nepal and
the USA were elected as deputy chairpersons of the board.
