Bahrain in COMSTECH meeting

IslamabadDelegated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Education Minister Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi is taking part in the 15th meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), being held in Islamabad.

Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain opened the meeting and stressed the importance of the issues that will be discussed in relation to the development march in the Islamic countries.

The Education Minister conveyed the greetings of HM the King and his best wishes of every success to the meeting. He highlighted the advanced educational march in Bahrain and the development schemes being implemented to further boost it. 

He also stressed Bahrain’s keenness on promoting cooperation between the Islamic countries, regarding mainly issues on the meeting’s agenda. It is to note that the meeting discusses the ten-year work plan to develop sciences and technology in the OIC member states, which was prepared by COMSTECH in cooperation with an elite of specialists. 

The scheme determines some basic priorities pertaining to education, developing skills, health, energy and infrastructure facilities in the member states.

COMSTECH was founded at the 3rd Islamic Summit, which convened in Saudi Arabia in 1981 as part of OIC efforts to bolster cooperation between the Islamic countries in various fields.
