BCCI holds Extraordinary General Assembly meeting today

Manama : The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is holding its Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting today at 4:00pm in Kingdom Hall on the first floor of the Chamber’s building “Bait Al Tijjar”.

The meeting will discuss collecting BCCI members’ registration fees and membership annual renewal fees and the proportion for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Tourism.  

In this regard, CEO of the Chamber Nabeel Al Mahmood called on all BCCI registered members to attend the meeting and said that the Extraordinary General Assembly shall not be deemed valid, except with the attendance of 25 per cent of the number of the members.  

“If there is no quorum at the first meeting, the second meeting for this Extraordinary General Assembly will be held after the end of the first meeting directly, and it will be valid if attended by 300 members or 15pc of the members whichever the less, and the decision shall be taken in this meeting by a majority of the present members, and if the votes equaled, the side of the chairman of the meeting will be casted,” Al Mahmood explained.   

“All the registered members who paid all their dues to the Chamber 7 days prior to the meeting will be entitled to enter the hall and exercise their right to vote according to Article No. (14) of the Chamber’s Law,” he added.

Al Mahmood also urged all BCCI members who wish to attend the meeting to apply for entry cards, which will be issued by the Chamber on the day of the meeting. Members are also requested to bring their membership cards and any one original ID documents (passport, identity card).
