Respond fast to Ombudsman’s report points: Interior Minister

Manama : Minister of Interior Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa directed the concerned authorities in the Ministry to respond fast on MOI-related points mentioned in the Ombudsman report.

The Minister received a copy of Ombudman’s 3rd annual report of 2015-2016 from Ombudsman Nawaf Mohammed Al Ma’awda in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs yesterday. 

He highlighted the development and modernisation programme of the Interior Ministry as part of its community partnership strategy to reinforce cooperation and interaction with various organisations and NGOs.

The Interior Minister thanked Al Ma’awda and all the Ombudsman’s staff, hailing the role of the organisation, which is part of the pioneering steps of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to reinforce justice and the power of law. 

He said the Ombudsman has won the trust of all for its professionalism and cooperation with international human rights organisations. 

The Ombudsman hailed the Interior Minister for his keenness to reinforce cooperation with the Ombudsman Office, adding that such cooperation has contributed to its success.
