Bahrain participates in World Congress on Acute Heart Failure
Manama : A delegation from the Cardiac Unit at SMC participated in the 3rd World Congress on Acute Heart Failure 2016, organised by European Society of Cardiology and held in Florence, Italy.
The Congress is one of the largest scientific gatherings in the world, where over 6,000 doctors from various countries meet to offer experiences and research.
The delegation presented a research paper by Dr. Rashid Al Bana, Dr. Aisha Ahmed, Dr. Wafa Al Haiki and Dr. Fajer Al Musa, which concludes that a woman with heart muscle failure can get pregnant again.
Dr Rashid, Consultant Cardiologist at SMC said heart muscle failure for women will no longer be an obstacle in getting pregnant.
He said the patient must be examined with cardiac ultrasound (ECHO), which encourages the heart to heal.
