‘No dangerous sea creatures in Bahrain’
Manama : No dangerous sea creatures have arrived in Bahraini waters, health authorities confirmed.
Health Ministry denied in a statement the rumours on local social networks, claiming that “new dangerous species of sea creatures have come close to Bahrain beaches”.
Quoting Health Minister Faeqa bin Saeed Al Saleh, the circulated news alleged that the alien creatures cause blood and skin diseases.
This information was denied by the ministry, which affirmed that “no cases caused by creatures or infections near beaches and resorts have been received by the ministry”.
“The information that has been circulating is fake and bizarre. What’s strange is that it was spread as if official statements from the minister herself. In case of any emergencies, the ministry will inform the public through the official channels, in cooperation with the concerned authorities,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said, “there’s nothing to panic about”, adding that such false news are intended to create chaos in the society.
