65pc progress in drainage project

Manama : The Sanitary Engineering Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Asma Murad revealed that the Ministry has achieved 65per cent progress in the C3 Storm Water Drainage Project.

The project is expected to serve 15 blocks in the Northern Governorate.

Murad explained that the project comprises of extending 1.12km of main connections, constructing 36 inspection chambers, 56 storm water collection points and 12 storm water collection tanks.

The network covers Block 477 in Shakhoora, Block 368 in South Sehla, Block 460 in Karana, Block 450 in Maqsha, Block 469 in Abu Saiba, Block 450 in Diraz, Block 509 in Maqaba, Block 539 in Bani Jamra, Blocks 523 and 521 in Saar, Block 518 in Barbar, Block 425 in Jidhafs, Block 551 in Quraya, Block 752 in Buri and Block 1022 in Demistan.

The BD266,950 project was awarded to Bahrain Pipes.
