iGA opens two new branches

Manama : To provide easier access to Identity Card (ID) services, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has officially opened two of its branches  in Seef Mall Muharraq and Mina Salman.

Commenting on the move, iGA Chief Executive Mohammed Ali AlQaed said, “The Authority aims at providing its services electronically and innovatively in the long term, out-of-which the customer is not required to make numerous physical visits.”

“These branches serve in decreasing the expenses and will also ease the offering of the government services associated to each other. The opening of these branches comes in coordination with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA),” he continued.

The branches possess all the services that businessmen and clearing agents require to complete their transactions. The changes also include closing of the Sitra branch by the end of this June.

The Authority is currently working on transferring the Sitra branch services to other branches including the Fast Track Office, located in the Main Branch of Isa Town. The Silah branch will provide ID services to residents’ companions.

Additionally, it will continue the operations of the Muharraq and Isa Town branches to provide their services to citizens without any changes effected to the followed procedures.

The ID services branch, situated at LMRA Mina Salman, offers a set of facilities to serve about 550 customers each day.

Facilities include ID services to foreign workers, which encompass the issuing and renewal of identity cards as well as updating of information.

The same services are delivered to citizens at the Seef Mall Muharraq branch which is expected to daily serve 120 customers.
