Murder accused expats detained further
Manama : Two Filipino men accused of murdering a Pakistani man have had their detention renewed by another 15 days, pending investigations.
According to court reports, the Pakistani man’s body was found in an apartment in Hoora, and initial investigation confirmed that he was killed with a knife.
Detectives discovered that one of the Filipino men was in the victim’s debt and failure to return the money led to the crime.
Prosecutors said that the other man abetted the crime, though it was the first defendant, who penetrated the knife into the victim’s body.
The pair reportedly also robbed the victim of several belongings before leaving the scene, including bank cards and money.
The primary defendant told the court earlier that his co-defendant was not involved in the crime.
However the High Criminal Court decided to remand both.
