‘Enough mutton for Ramadan’

Manama : Livestock traders assured that large quantities of meat enough to cover consumers’ need will be available throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, with choices at different prices to satisfy all tastes.

They informed that consumers need not think of hoarding or storing meat the next few days preceding the blessed month of Ramadan as Bahrain has imported large quantities of red meat from several countries of origin (COOs).

Bahrain Livestock Company (BLC) Deputy Chairman Yousef Al Saleh said the company will continue to import and market high quality frozen meat from various approved sources in the upcoming period to cover the local market need at suitable prices.

There are many importers and marketers in the local market following the lifting of government subsidy from meats last October.

Al Saleh added that many importers had joined along in importing frozen meat from various sources at different prices for consumers to choose.
