Capital Club Bahrain appoints new General Manager
Manama : Capital Club Bahrain, the Kingdom’s premier private club, has appointed a new General Manager, Sumeet Jhingan, a seasoned hospitality expert with over 17 years of international food and beverage operations experience.
“I am excited to be here and bring a new spin on exclusivity to Capital Club Bahrain. Working with our current team and their knowledge of our members, we plan to bring an added element of surprise to the food and events scene,” said the newly appointed GM.
“I envision that the Capital Club will soon become an icon of the Kingdom’s social scene, with service excellence and member satisfaction as our primary focus areas,” he added.
Jhingan hails from New York and has experience working in five-star hotels, restaurants and clubs around the globe. Most notably, he has worked with a number of Michelin star chefs both regionally and internationally.
In his last role, he was Director of Operations for Ginza Restaurants, UAE, where he worked with three Michelin star Chef Jean Georges Vongerichton and launched two restaurants at The Four Seasons Hotel. Additionally, he worked with world renowned chefs like Masayoshi Takayama (Chef Masa), Andoni Luis Aduriz, Jaime Pesaque and Bjorn Frantzen to launch their exclusive concepts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Prior to that, Jhingan was managing F&B operations for Chef Jean Georges in New York. He also managed the operations for the iconic ‘The Mark Hotel’ in New York. Previous experiences include Club Corp International and collaborations with Michelin star chefs Shaun Hergatt, Laurent Tourondel and Atul Kocchar.
Ranked 10th in Caterer Magazine’s Top 50 List for 2015, Jhingan is regularly featured in regional publications like Hotelier Middle East, Caterer Global and other local publications.
