Court upheld cop attackers jail sentence
Manama : The Appeals Court upheld the seven years imprisonment of an appellant convicted of attacking police officers. The defendant was among nine men tried in connection with this case, and all of his co-defendants received seven years behind bars after being found guilty.
The Bahrainis are said to have been part of the mob of over 500 protesters, who pelted police officers with firebombs during an assault against them in Demistan.
The attack injured three police officers.
The appellant along with the other defendants were indicted of attacking on duty police officers, possessing firebombs, participating in an illegal gathering and blocking roads.
