Shaikh Mohammed takes oath as new Oil Minister

ManamaHis Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday received Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who was sworn in as the new Oil Minister, in the presence of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, at Al Safriah Palace.

HM King and the Premier congratulated the newly appointed minister and wished him success in taking on the national responsibility to serve the homeland and citizens. 

King Hamad praised the new minister’s qualifications and competence that qualify him for the new task.

HM King stressed that Bahrain continues implementing development plans and programmes in various fields to meet the aspirations of citizens. 

The Oil Minister thanked HM the King for the Royal confidence entrusted with him, affirming that the Royal directives will always guide him on the right path. He vowed serving the homeland and citizens.

Minister chairs Tatweer Petroleum meet

Shaikh Mohamed, also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tatweer Petroleum, chaired a board meeting as well as the management committee meeting, held at the company’s headquarters in Al-Rumamin.

Tatweer Petroleum shareholders including Occidental Petroleum, Mubadala Petroleum, nogaholding and other distinguished representatives from NOGA and Bapco attended the meeting. Tatweer’s operations and various operational matters were reviewed. 

The Minister thanked the Tatweer management and employees for their hard work and encouraged them to continue their efforts to increase the oil and gas production in the Bahrain Field. 

Before closing the meetings, Shaikh Mohamed expressed his gratitude to the Bahraini leadership for their continued support to Bahrain, its oil and gas industry and Tatweer Petroleum in particular.
