iGA notifies Ramadan timings, app updates

Manama : The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced the working timings of its branches during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Muharraq, Isa Town, Mina Salman (located at Labour Market Regulatory Authority building) and Sehla branches, along with the Fast Track Office located in Isa Town can be visited from Sunday to Thursday from 8am – 3pm to issue, renew and update data of identity cards.

The Authority has also added a set of new updates of its application Islamiyat, which is considered a unified platform that gathers a number of diversified services associated with the month.

The revamped services comprise the ‘Islamic Mosques & Centres’ service that now allows the users to access the location of mosques or centres through Google Map.

The Authority also developed the service ‘Zakat Calculator,’ a service linked to the daily price of gold. There is also the ‘Ramadan Majalis Directory,’ which comprises a list of the daily and weekly Bahraini Ramadan Majalis list. Using this, the user can see the name and contact details of the Majalis, besides locating them on the map.

The ‘Mosques Directory’ is a directory to mosques in Bahrain with standard and advanced search.

A ‘Hajj and Umrah’ service links directory to the organizers of the Hajj and Umrah agencies as well as their contact details and office addresses.

The Islamiyat application can be obtained from the Government Apps Store Bahrain.bh/apps.

The authority also announced it is continuing its promotional efforts by launching its annual Ramadan Competition, which starts on the first day of the Holy Month and continues for two
weeks.

Winners are granted daily cash prizes. Participants who wish to take part in the competition have to access the National Portal (Bahrain.bh) or the Islamiyat application.
