Road needs in Isa town

Manama: Works Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat toured Isa Town to inspect road and sanitary needs.

He was accompanied by Municipal Council member and representative to the first Constituency of the Southern Governorate Abdulla Al Qubaisi and representatives from the sanitary and roads sectors of the Ministry.

During the visit, Al Khayyat listened to a number of proposals raised by Al Qubaisi, including fencing the parking lot opposite to Khalifa Stadium along Damascus Avenue and installing protection barriers for the houses located on Avenue 5 in Block 810. Al Khayyat directed the concerned team at the Roads Planning & Design Directorate to study the possibility of providing barriers to ensure that the existing speed hump will not be overrun.

Al Khayyat also referred to the proposal of implementing a storm water drainage system along the Intersection of Damascus Avenue and Road 1008, where he instructed the team at the Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Directorate to ensure connecting the tank near Al Ghofran Mosque along Road 817 to the existing storm water drains.

He also gave directions to improve the current system and increase its capacity to solve the issue of water flood in a number of locations in Isa Town.

A number of other proposals were also discussed, including paving the parking lot near Eskan Bank, revamping entrances to the market by creating additional entry along Baghdad Avenue and creating parking spaces for Southern Isa Town Mosque.

Al Qubaisi proposed changing the direction of Road 612 to the opposite direction. Engineers from the Ministry explained that such a proposal needs a traffic study to assess feasibility. Al Qubaisi also suggested providing concrete barriers along Road 1006 near Isa Town Elementary School for Boys.

Other proposals from Al Qubaisi included the possibility of using the piece of land along Road 612 as parking spaces. Since the land belongs to the Ministry of Development, Al Khayyat directed Al Qubaisi to address the Ministry of Development.
