Albareh wind starts today in Bahrain

Manama: Bahrain's Meteorological Directorate (BMD) said the Kingdom of Bahrain will be affected by active to moderate and sometimes high-speed northwesterly winds starting from today and expected to continue throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

The Directorate advises all citizens, especially seafarers, to take the necessary precautions.

The average high temperature is expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius and average low temperatures is expected to reach 29 degrees Celsius, and may vary from year to year.

Northwesterly seasonal winds locally named "Albareh" normally transform into northeasterly to easterly winds caused by the seasonal low atmospheric mass prevailing in southern and central Pakistan regions affect the Gulf Region and usually continue to blow for almost forty days well into July and may cause dust and sand storms incoming from south Iraq and northern parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
