Sport Majlis in Ramadan

Manama: The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) is opening a sport ‘Majlis’ in Ramadan at its premises in Seef.

This first-of-its-kind initiative, which will be open from June 12 for three weeks, the Majliswill be open for representatives of sports associations and relevant authorities, including administrators, referees, athletes and media.

The idea is in line with the strategy of the BOC in an attempt to strengthen ties with these entities as well as promoting the partnership between the committee and different sports organisations in Bahrain.

BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, along with other board members, will be available to welcome the visitors at the Majlis, where some of the most significant sports issues will be brought up for discussions.

Askar said the committee has already sent invitations to top figures from sports club, associations, athletes and media personnel to share their thoughts and opinions about any sports-related subjects.

He noted that the initiative is part of the committee’s programmes launched in line with the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President, aimed to promote sports in general and boosts communication with the sports community in Bahrain.
