BSB hosted 5th Annual Sports Awards Evening

Manama:The British School of Bahrain (BSB) Senior PE Department hosted the 5th Annual Sports Awards Evening on June 1.

The event was the biggest in BSB sporting calendar and consisted of sporting demonstrations of trampolining, gymnastics to music by three students, and fencing by the Bahrain Fencing Association, speeches, music and of course, the awards themselves. 

Teams were rewarded for their participation in the league and some students also received awards for the Most Valuable and Most Improved Players. The Illustrious awards were also presented to the Outstanding Sportsman and Sportswoman for each age category, as well as ‘Contribution to School Sport’ and ‘Sports Leader of the Year’. Head Coach of the Bahrain Fencing Association Alderazi was the chief guest.

The winners of the Illustrious Awards were Sultan Mashood (Contribution to School Sport), Rishabh Sharma (Sports Leader of the Year) and Tayla Finch (Athlete of the Year). 

Outstanding Sportsman and Sportswoman were Serena Benzahia (Junior Girls), Borislav Gonkov (Junior Boys), Ghia Abou Melhem (Intermediate Girls), Pavle Ognjenovic (Intermediate Boys), Lucy Baker (Senior Girls), Carlo Vincenzini (Senior Boys), Giuseppe Merlerati (Victor Ludorum) and Zahra Alhassan (Victrix Ludorum).
