Gunners United to face Al Suqoor

Manama: Gunners United will play against Al Saquoor today in Group 4 of ‘Nasser 9’ Ramadan football tournament, followed by Vista against Al Zilzal.

Vista tops the group after defeating Al Squoor 4-2 in their first game. 

Al Zilzal and Gunners United, meanwhile, share the second place after their 0-0 stalemate.  

Their squad includes several top players and Al Suqoor will have to double their efforts if they are getting a positive result. Vista and Al Zilzal, on the other hand, enter the match with none of them being tipped as favourites.

 

Penalty-Kicks contest tomorrow

A special penalty-kick contest will take place tomorrow. The Organising Committee has completed all the preparations and an audition was held, where several members of the committee and referees as well as players took part in an effort to brief those involved about the event and its rules and how the points will be counted.

 

Al Nawayef stun Majestic Cars

Al Nawayef recorded their first win yesterday after stunned Majestic Cars 3-0. Ahmed Ghaleb scored brace and Isa Al Bari completed a perfect night for Al Nawayef.

This refreshed the Majestic Cars who finally began attacking. But their efforts got crushed with a solid defending display from their opponents. And in the 28th minute, Ahmed Ghaleb hit the top corner of the net with a fine long-distance effort to double Al Nawayef’s lead.  The rout was completed by Isa Al Bari who found the net two minutes later.

Al Nawayef maintained their great defending performance in the second half and sealed the win with a clean sheet. 

Forever smash six goals to sink Al Museef

Forever took full advantage of Majestic Cars’ slip and took the roost in Group 3 with a resounding 6-2 victory over Al Museef late on Tuesday. Forever’s tally now stands at four points from two games, while Al Museef’s defeat has shattered all their hopes to qualify to the next stage.  Nayef Zuwayed, Nasser Al Salman and Ahmed Al Muqla scored two goals each for the team, while Ahmed Al Jalahma was on target twice for Al Museef. 

 

Ghalib, Al Sulaiman win best player award

Al Nawayef’s Ahmed Ghalib was on top form in their victory over Majestic Cars and his fine display won him the best player of the match award. Forever’s Yousif Nasser Al Sulaiman bagged also the same award.

 

Shaikh Nasser praises Vista’s support

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa,  representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports,  affirmed that Vista Company’s sponsorship to the second edition of  Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games “Nasser 9” highlights the key role played by the private sector in providing essential factors to the event.

It’s worth noting that  Tawfeeq Salehi, the Manager of  Shaikh Nasser Media and Information Office, received Vista’s sponsorship cheque from the company CEO Alia Hussain.
