Cleric, woman get prison for Sexual affair
Manama: A cleric and a woman have been jailed for one year each for having sex. The woman, aged 26, had a sexual affair with the cleric after they fell in love during Hajj, though she was married to another man.
The 34-cleric man was assigned to provide guidance to the pilgrims, amongst them was the woman and her husband. Her husband found the affair between them after inspecting her mobile phone, and he eventually filed a case against her in police station.
The duo has two children. “She travelled to perform Hajj with her family. She stayed 27 days, and when she returned she wasn’t her self. Her care for me and the children was very different,” the husband told prosecutors. “She was spending a lot of time on her phone, and she began going out under the pretext of meeting friends. I began suspecting her behaviour,” he added. He is said to have grabbed her wife’s phone when she entered the toilet. He surfed the messages and found that there was romance between she and the cleric.
