Unlicensed tourism facility closed

Manama: The Public Prosecution yesterday ordered an authorised tourism venue in the Northern Governorate to be shut down.

Capital Advocate General Nawaf Al-Awadhi said the closure followed a notification from the Bahrain Authority for Tourism and Exhibitions (BATE) to the Public Prosecution. In a statement, he said that the sanctioned facility was found in breach of the law, operating without obtaining the required BATE licence as per the procedures.

The closure was coordinated with the BATE and the General Directorate for Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence.

The Public Prosecution has also tasked the law enforcement officers to identify the lawbreaker to complete the investigation and refer him to stand trial.
