Two men get prison for drug peddling

Manama: The High Criminal Court sentenced an Arab man to 10 years behind bars on grounds of peddling drugs. Another man, also an Arab national, implicated in the same case, but was given only three years behind bars.

It was the second man, aged 26, who was nabbed first following a tip-off to the police. He was lured into selling drugs by an undercover agent, who requested BD100 worth of hashish.

During interrogation, he revealed that he had been receiving the drugs from the first defendant. He also expressed his willingness to help police in capturing the first defendant.

So he was allowed to contact him in the pretext of asking him for more drugs. The pair met behind a local hotel while they were being surveyed by police. As soon the first defendant handed over the drugs, police pounced on him.
