Bahrain attends UN meeting on AIDS
New York: Bahrain took part in the 2016 United Nations High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS, which was held from June 8 to 10 in New York, the US.
The delegation included Health Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Hospital Affairs Dr. Walid Al Manea and Bahrain Permanent Representative to the United Nations Jamal Al Ruwae.
The high-profile meeting focused on bringing the attention of the international community to a set of specific, time-bound targets and actions that must be achieved by 2020. The target is set to wipe out AIDS epidemic by 2030 within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals.
