Heroin peddler gets life sentence
Manama: A court has upheld the life sentence of a 22-year-old Pakistani man, who was implicated in heroin peddling.
The defendant was nailed in possession of two kilograms of heroin at his residence following a tip-off received by the police.
The defendant was initially referred to trial with another man who was living with him in the same apartment. However, the latter was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
The defendant is said to have been collaborating with another man living in Pakistan for the sale of drugs.
The defendant was earlier fined BD10000. He will be deported once he completes his jail term.
