Team Forever qualifies for last eight

Manama: Forever team qualified to the last-eight stage in Nasser 9 Ramadan Football Tournament after trashing the 10-man Majestic Cars in a 4-0 win.

The match was played on Saturday at Khalifa Sports City Football Stadium as part of Group 3.

Their resounding victory has not just sealed their ticket to move to the next level, but also allowed them to top the group with seven points, but on goal difference with Al Nawayef. Meanwhile Majestic Cars and Al Museef have crashed out of the tournament.

Forever’s Yousif Nasser scored one goal in each half to put the winners 2-0 up, before Ahmed Al Muqla added a third goal in the 56th minute. Substitute Nawaf Zuwayed found the net in the 85th minute to make the result 4-0. Majestic was hit with another red card given to Nayef Abdulrahman, adding to his team’s woes.

 

Al Nawayef progress to Quarter-finals

Al Nawayef have booked a place in the quarter-finals in style, defeating 10-man Al Museef 4-0 .

Al Nawayef amassed seven points during their run in the group stage, while Al Museef had a participation to forget after crashing out without any point.

Mohammed Jassim opened the scoring for Al Nawayef in the 25th minute to ease his team’s struggles before his teammate Hussain “Pele” Ali doubled their lead two minutes before the halftime break. 

Fadhel Abbas added Al Nawayef’s third goal after three minutes into the second half and Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali completed the rout in the 90th. The score could have been higher if not for the heroics of Al Museef’s goalkeeper Ahmed Al Thawadhi.

Two Qualification tickets at stake in Group 4

The group stage of tournament will come to an end today with two matches taking place as part of Group 4. Gunners United play Vista at 9:00pm, and Al Zilzal will face Al Suqoor at 11:15pm. 

  The group’s qualification tickets for the next round are still at stake as Gunners United are leading the group with four points and Al Zilzal are in second with equal number points, but on goal difference. Vista are at number three in the ranking with three point. Al Suqoor though stand no chance of qualifying as they are bottom in the group.
