Asian woman acquitted in molestation case
Manama: The High Criminal Court acquitted an Asian woman of molesting a five-year-old girl due to lack of evidence.
The defendant was put on trial based on the victims’ statements, and judges at the High Criminal Court stated that she was too young to have her statements counted.
The court also suggested that the accusations could be malicious as there were differences between the divorced parents of the child. The maid is working in the house of the child’s father.
The defendant was referred to trial after the mother of the child indicted her of feeling the private parts of the girl.
The Asian woman’s lawyer Mahmood Rabea, however, argued that the victim’s age is too young to make her statements to be counted.
