New bus-specifications for this Hajj season
Manama: The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) was informed that Saudi Arabia will prohibit the entry of any non-Saudi passenger bus unless it meets the new bus-specifications.
According to the new specifications, passenger buses must not be more than 10 years old, must have a passenger occupancy of no less than 75 per cent, must have a valid technical inspection certificate, must be air-conditioned and comfortable for long distances, must have necessary safety and emergency tools including first-aid bag with a list
of the names of all passengers and the purpose of the trip.
In this regard, BCCI executive bureau member and head of the transport and logistics committee Abdulhakeem Al Shemeri urged all concerned to abide by the specifications, which aim to secure the lives of GCC citizens and residents and ensure a safe and smooth Hajj season.
