Efforts of Customs Affairs hailed

Manama: Minister of Interior Lt General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday visited the Customs Affairs, where he was received by Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa and a number of General Directors and Directors of the Customs Affairs.

The Interior Minister hailed the efforts of the Customs Affairs personnel, calling for honesty and sincerity in performing duties that put security as top priority.

He stressed the importance to keep up the high level
of Customs procedures at all ports and exits. He said that the department represents the country’s gateway that is protected by a new Customs inspection system.

The Interior Minister congratulated Shaikh Ahmed on the royal trust in appointing him as Customs President, wishing him all the best in serving the citizens and the nation. 

The Customs President lauded the endless support of the Wise Leadership to the Customs Affairs, the care of the Interior Minister and the dedication of its personnel to protect the society from banned and restricted materials. 

He noted that in line with the directives of the Interior Minister, a full assessment of procedures, services, human resources and preparations would be carried out in the next phase.  Shaikh Ahmed  added that a comprehensive strategy is under planning. “It is expected to be launched as part of the celebrations of the Bahrain Police Day and National Day at the end of 2016.”

On the occasion, the Interior Minister watched a visual presentation on the history of Customs.
