Applications for UNAOC Fellowship invited
Manama: The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) has invited applications for the 2016 edition of its Fellowship Programme. Participants between 25 and 38 years old from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and North America, with a strong interest in intercultural exchanges can apply.
In a statement yesterday, the UNAOC said the main theme of the Fellowship 2016 is “Education as a tool for the prevention of radicalization and xenophobia.” Candidates must also be professionally involved in the field of Education.
“From the applicants, twelve young leaders and professionals from Europe, North-America, and twelve young leaders and professionals from the Middle East and North-Africa will be selected. During two weeks, participants from each geographic area will travel to their counterparts’ region,” it said.
The goal of the Fellowship is to provide participants with first-hand exposure to cultural diversity.
“In every country they visit, participants will acquire crucial comprehension tools to help them understand the plurality of their host country’s culture, politics, society and media,” the statement said.
