National security can never be waived or compromised: PM

ManamaCalling for regional and international coordination in fighting terrorism and extremism, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has reiterated that Bahrain will never be a gateway for any danger to the GCC countries but will remain a bulwark against terrorism and extremism.

“National security can never be waived or compromised,” he asserted, underlining Bahrain’s right to take the necessary measures to maintain its security and stability as well as ensure the safety of its people.

HRH Premier stressed the government’s pledge to take more procedures to maintain Bahrain’s security and stability and prevent foreign interference. Prince Khalifa said any organisational procedures taken were aimed to foster commitment to laws, regulations and the national track in political work. HRH Premier was speaking in a work meeting held at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday to follow up the procedures taken by the government to protect political work from veering off the national track.

Chairing the meeting, HRH the Prime Minister remarked that “no country in the world can allow terrorising its people and undermining its security and stability.” “The procedures taken by Bahrain in this respect aim to protect the Bahraini people and protect the nation from sliding into the cauldron of sedition and division.”

HRH Premier also urged to speed up action in facing forces of subordination to foreign political and religious reference, advocates of terrorism and extremism, law violators and those trying to tarnish Bahrain’s advanced standing in the human rights and democratic field.

Deputy Premiers, the Foreign Minister, the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister, the Information Minister and a number of officials attended the meeting.
