Sitra cop shooting suspects held
Manama : The General Directorate of Investigation and Forensic Science yesterday arrested the main suspect in the shooting of a policeman in Sitra that occurred on May 23.
“Another eight individuals convicted earlier in unrelated terror cases were also arrested. This includes a fugitive, who has been sentenced to life in prison. His citizenship has been revoked,” the General Director said in a statement.
“The arrestees also include one of the escapees from the detention centre in the Dry Dock on June 3. The individuals were arrested as part of a counterterrorism operation,” he informed.
The arrested suspects: Salman Hussain Salman Jassim, 19, Ali Ibrahim Kadhim Ibrahim Mattar, 21, Sayed Mohammed Adnan Alawi Al Musawi, 27, Ahmed Mohammed Kadhem Ahmed Al Asfoor, 22, Mohammed Abdulameer Jabar Al Mushaima, 20, Hussain Mohammed Ahmed Shahab, 27, Jaffar Mohammed Ahmed Shabab, 29, Sadiq Jaffar Ali Ghanem Al Derazi, 27 and Aymen Naji Salman Ahmed, 22.
“The General Directorate has taken the necessary legal steps in this case,” he added.
