Fake FB page of HH Shaikh Nasser boasts of big prizes

Manamapage on Facebook that ostensibly claimed to be of a Bahrain Royal Family member was proved to be a hoax yesterday. It also promised luxurious gifts.

The page, which is alleged to be owned by His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is claiming to present an award of the latest model of a luxurious car to “a lucky winner.”

“A 2016 Mercedes would be awarded one lucky winner. Those interested should be members of the page, press the ‘Like’ button, type God (Allah) names and share the post,” the page shows.

It also claimed that “the winner would be contacted through his/her private profile and the name would be announced on the page on October 7.”

The Facebook page has over 21, 000 likes and the post was shared around 500 times. A source close to HH Shaikh Nasser confirmed to DT News that the page is fake and that “it’s an attempt to rob people.”  Similar posts were also seen on pages claiming to be owned by Royal Family members in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
