Court jails man for beating up taxi driver
Manama : A judge yesterday refused to replace the jail term issued against a US citizen with another punishment. The man is implicated in the case of beating up a 63-year-old taxi driver. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
The US citizen was among three people, who were nabbed in connection with the case. However, the other two are serving with the US armed forces, and they were sent for trial in a US military court.
The victim had earlier rejected a proposal of $20,000 to drop the lawsuit. He said that he wouldn’t drop the case for any amount of money.
