Myriad support

Manama: The recent crackdown of the authorities on violating societies has received wide welcome locally and regionally. Fellow GCC States expressed their support to the judicial measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security and stability. The steps were also taken to achieve the sovereignty of the law and combat extremism and ideologies that target national unity and coexistence.

Commenting on it, GCC General Secretary Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani reiterated the Council’s backing of Bahrain’s procedures against societies and organisations that continued to commit practices that contradict with the law and regulations followed in the country. “They promoted sectarianism, sedition and violence, besides achieving the ambitions of foreign powers that seek harming Bahrain and its people.” 

Dr. Al Zayani affirmed the GCC States’ solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain in reinforcing democratic approach, political work and openness, within the frame of the reforms project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Stressed on preserving Bahrain’s national unity, he called upon foreign countries and organisations to respect the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain, its constitution, law and judicial authority and not to interfere in its domestic affairs.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates also emphasised on its support to the measures taken by the Kingdom to protect peace, stability and safety of its citizens.

The Emirati State Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash extended in a statement UAE’s solidarity with Bahrain in its measures taken to combat all forms of extremism and terrorism.

The Minister condemned the attempts of foreign-backed organisations to destabilise Bahrain, harm its national unity and security, and promote sedition in it.

 “The open and constructive national approach of HM King Hamad and his government represents a national and developmental approach that embraces the future and contributes in the prosperity of Bahrain. Protecting the achievements and gains of the Kingdom is a priority that requires the support of all,” Dr. Gargash added in a statement to UAE’s official news agency WAM.
