HM King to patronise Holy Quran Contest
Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry will organise on June 20 the 21st edition of Bahrain Grand Holy Quran Recitation and Explanation Contest.
The competition will be organised in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs at Al Fateh Mosque.
Participating parties, the jury and winners of the competition will be honoured.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry invited the people in Bahrain to attend the valedictory ceremony of the contest in support of the Holy Quran memorisers.
The competition is held for the 21st consecutive year since its inception in the era of late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa in 1996.
It has been held under the patronage of HM the King since his accession to the throne in 1999.
The competition aims to encourage youngsters to learn the Holy Quran and its sciences and prepare them to take part in disseminating noble Islamic values.
