Bahrain expat arrested with fake Indian currency
Manama : A Bahrain expat has been arrested at his hometown with fake Indian currency notes.
According to Indian police, a man used fake notes to buy liquor from a store in a village called Payyannur, in the south Indian state of Kerala.
Staff at the store who went to deposit the daily collection in their bank account was informed that one of the INR500 (around BD2.8) currencies was fake.
The liquor store decided to wait and see which of their customer gave them the fake note.
A day later the store received three more fake INR500 notes. The staff detained Biju K till police arrived.
He had reached from Bahrain around 10 days ago on vacation.
Police arrested Biju after they found 43 fake currencies from his house.
A detailed investigation has now been launched.
