Safety a priority

Manama: Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has underscored the importance of diplomatic and media support to Bahrain’s efforts to fight terrorism and maintain security.   

Chairing a work meeting here yesterday, the Premier stressed the need to thwart all attempts to tarnish Bahrain’s image by disseminating false information. “Such acts sully the Kingdom’s anti-terrorism efforts to protect itself as well as the whole region.”

HRH the Prime Minister directed to intensify communication with the rest of the world and highlight the danger of terrorism. According to him, Bahrain is acting within an international framework in its war on terrorism. Prince Khalifa also stressed that the measures taken in this respect aimed to prevent foreign interference seeking to wreak havoc and terrorism.

“No government in the world can tolerate terrorising its people or tampering with their safety. Bahrain’s security is our top priority,” HRH Premier remarked. 

Commenting that Bahrain is a State of law and institutions, Prince Khalifa urged all relevant parties to maintain communication with friendly countries and show that Bahrain is waging a war on deeds and not against people in its bid to maintain law.

“Despite the gravity of the threat posed to national security, the government has been keen to ensure that measures are taken within the constitutional and legal framework,” the Premier clarified, reiterating the government’s pledge to continue taking all measures to protect the nation from terrorism.

During the meeting, attended by Deputy Premiers, Foreign Minister, Information Minister, the Premier also underlined the need to act faster against advocates of terrorism.
